Getting sporty in spring

There was no sign of ‘end of winter blues’ at this event!

Palmerston North’s learners braved the mix of misty weather and sunshine weather, to participate in an hour of physical fitness in Palmerston North’s centre square. The programme is part of the ‘New Kiwis Health and Wellbeing’ series ran by Sport Manawatu and MHT Diabetes Trust run over five Wednesdays.

Everyone tried new and familiar tasks, encouraged each other and laughed and laughed!

The learners had been talking about health (diabetes, good eating, mental health, heart health and medications) and were encouraged to keep fit through a variety of exercises such as stretching, dancing, skipping, balancing, hopscotch, ball games and tag games.

English Language Partners is most grateful to have good neighbours like Sport Manawatu, and the learners all say ‘It was VERY GOOD’.  Many want to continue the programme permanently.
